Joel Abaka Anaman is a product leader and founder passionate about solving challenges in employability, education, and healthcare. A proud Chevening Scholar, he holds a Master’s in Business Analytics and Management Sciences from the University of Southampton.

Joel currently serves as Senior Product Manager at Axmed, where he leads the development of an innovative marketplace that improves access to affordable, high-quality medicines in low- and middle-income countries. Prior to this, he played a key role at mPharma, building logistics systems that streamlined supply chain operations for over 500 pharmacies and health stores across 10 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Alongside his corporate career, Joel is the founder of Career Wheel, a platform that has empowered over 400 Black professionals across Africa, Europe, and North America to advance their careers, creating an estimated £2 million in annual income flows to Africa. Today, he is building Mande, an AI-powered suite of career tools designed to make independent career navigation accessible to the next generation of African talent at a fraction of the current cost.

At FORMICA Finishing School, Joel brings his global experience and entrepreneurial mindset to the Career Readiness module, guiding participants through career discovery, job applications, and interview preparation with practical, future-focused strategies. Passionate about mentorship (and puns!), Joel helps learners not only prepare for their first roles but also build the mindset for long-term success in today’s evolving workplace.
